Well said. This is an excellent, balanced comment. SOPA/PIPA is not the ideal answer. However, allowing people (like the ones on pinkbike) to use music free without permission is also not the answer. That is not "free speech." That is stealing from musicians who dedicate time and money to their industry, most of which struggle to pay rent.
I disagree with SOPA. Which is irrelevant.
I disagree with Ian using his influence in the industry to push his personal views.
I disagree with ignorant slamming of whole countries (namely the USA) and their people.
Let's keep it classy pinkbike, and stick to what we know best. Bikes.
And as for the country issue...I would never make statements about any country as a whole, based on surface knowledge of a particular bill or law. I am proud of my country and am disgusted with the number of people ready at any moment to chime in and bash the people and place I call home. I'm tired of it being trendy to hate the United States.
My attitude is that of someone who believes in keeping web content relevant. This is a biking site.
Perhaps if you were involved in the music industry your opinion might be more balanced Ian. I would imagine if thousands of rogue companies were making money off your photos without permission, you might not be so black and white about SOPA.
Oh god Demorick you are SO hardcore...I can barely contain how impressed I am by your sick terrain and skills...the pic of you sitting on your bike on the highway really conveys the intensity of Nevada to me as well as lends credibility to your statements.
Whoa...did anyone else do a double-take at that ridiculous superman by Lacondeguy?
Maybe they can make you a personal Justin Beiber remix ;)
